About the Founder
Meet Nick Higgins — a fire lieutenant, coach, and the driving force behind Tactical Fuel Performance.
With over 20 years of experience in the fire service, Nick knows what it takes to operate under pressure—both physically and mentally. As a lieutenant and state-certified fire instructor in New Jersey, he’s trained countless first responders to stay sharp, ready, and resilient.
But his mission didn’t stop at tactics and training.
As a former collegiate athlete, Precision Nutrition Level 1 coach, and lifelong student of performance, Nick founded Tactical Fuel Performance to bridge the gap between elite nutrition and real-world demands. His goal: to help tactical professionals and high-performing individuals fuel smarter, recover faster, and perform at their peak—on the job, in the gym, and in life.
He’s also the author of The 5-Tool Firefighter series and host of The 5-Tool Firefighter Podcast, where he challenges others to grow, lead, and train with purpose.
